Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

WOW! Is it just us or does it feel like the year has gone by abnormally fast? Seriously, Halloween is over (I cannot say we are too sad about that) and Thanksgiving is speedily approaching…which means that Christmas will be here before we know it!

If you’re like us, you might already have all of your Christmas decorations out and you have probably listened to a few Christmas songs. What? We can’t help it, Christmas is a special holiday. But let’s put the brakes on it for a second and take a moment to remember another extraordinary holiday, Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving has a magical feel about it. It is a time when people are a little more humble and soft as they are reminded of all the amazing gifts and blessings they have in their lives. Individuals reach out to help those around them in the spirit of giving and people seem happier in general.

Another favorite of ours is the food! Can you blame us? It is one of the only times in the year when we can eat as much as we want and not feel bad about it…well maybe just a little eating remorse. But the food is absolutely delicious.

What is your favorite holiday meal or desert? When we think of the Holidays, the one thing that comes into our mind is pumpkin…pumpkin…and more PUMPKIN! Pumpkin pie, pumpkin eggnog, pumpkin bites…I am guessing you get the idea.

Well while on this pumpkin trip the other day, I decided to play around with making a Pumpkin Pie Smoothie. It was SOOO good!

Pumpkin Pie Smoothie Recipe

½ Cup Organic Pumpkin (or any Pumpkin Puree that you would like to use)

2 Banana’s

2 Date Rolls (you can get these at a local Health Food Store)

½ Tsp Pumpkin Spice (you can add more if you want the flavor to be stronger)

½ Tsp Cinnamon

½ Tsp Cloves

1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk (or regular milk)

Instructions: Put all of the ingredients in the blender and mix until smooth.

If you are in the process of moving, renting a new apartment or house, have no time for breakfast, or just don’t have a lot of time in general, this is a healthy, easy, and FAST breakfast to make and take out the door.
